Ms Tenzin Dadon Sharling, the youngest elected member of Tibetan Parliament in exile gave a talk on ‘Gender and Its Understanding in the Tibetan Community’ on 11th August to the students of the Ninth Intensive Translation workshop. She covered on various gender issues in our community, different stereotypes in our society for girls, why women are not being able to stand out in the society and the merits of women being active in the society.
1 August 2014: Ms. Tsering Tsomo, Director of Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, gives presentations on democracy, human rights and Tibetan cause to the students of the 9th of Intensive Translation Program held at LTWA conference hall.
1 August 2014: His Eminence the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Rinpoche visits LTWA to refer to vast collections of ancient literary resources on Buddhist studies preserved at the institute.

Wasfia Nazreen at LTWA
The students of the 2014 Intensive Translators Course interviewed a special 'Mystery Guest' recently when Wasfia Nazreen accepted their teacher's invitation to visit LTWA. As well as sharing details of her unusual life, she told them about reaching the summit of Everest, her upbringing in Bangladesh, her education abroad and her work for Tibetans, her travels (including in Tibet) and the Seven Summit challenge she set herself.
